Connecticut - Today, November 8, 2018, Connecticut’s Senate Democratic caucus unanimously re-elected Senate President Pro Tempore Martin M. Looney (D-New Haven) and Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (D-Norwalk). In response, DFER CT State Director Amy Dowell made the following statement:
“We congratulate Senators Looney and Duff on being selected from among an esteemed group of legislators to lead our State Senate through the 2019 and 2020 legislative sessions.
“DFER CT has worked closely with these Democratic champions over the years, and we are proud and excited to continue collaborating on their efforts to make education funding more equitable, ensure readiness for college and careers, and promote fairness so that every Connecticut child has a meaningful opportunity through our public education system. Both Senators Looney and Duff reflect our Democratic values, and I feel confident that they will prioritize the needs of Connecticut’s children and schools.”
