The pandemic has profoundly affected us all, but this holiday season we are thinking about the Connecticut students and families who face hunger and food scarcity this year.
Over the last few years, the number of families facing food insecurity had declined nationwide. But economic instability during the COVID 19 pandemic has the crisis roaring back throughout communities in every state. Coverage of the issue from CBS here and here, and NPR here provide a glimpse into struggles of many American children and families. Right here in Connecticut, we are seeing more of the same.
